2026 Karahan Tepe & Göbekli Tepe Tour in Turkey

Want to Visit Karahan Tepe? Now is your chance!

This September 13–23, 2026, KarahanTepe.net will lead a limited archaeological tour of Göbekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe, and the Taş Tepeler sites that reshaped our understanding of early civilization.

This ten-day Turkey archaeology tour explores the Taş Tepeler region alongside key imperial and ritual sites spanning the Neolithic through the Bronze Age. Designed for participants seeking structured archaeological context rather than general tourism, the program traces a civilizational arc from the world’s first known temple complexes to later imperial capitals.

Participants may use code KARAHAN to receive a $150 courtesy rate through KarahanTepe.net.

A Guided Tour of Göbekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe, and the Taş Tepeler Region

Göbekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe have fundamentally reshaped academic understanding of early human social organization, symbolic systems, and monumental construction. This guided tour provides extended on-site engagement at both locations, supported by regional museum context and broader landscape continuity.

In addition to Göbekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe, the expedition includes:

  • Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum

  • Sayburç and Sefertepe

  • Harran and Upper Mesopotamian desert settlements

  • Mount Nemrut

  • Cappadocia’s underground cities (Deryinkuyu)

  • Hattusa, capital of the Hittite Empire

This structured itinerary connects the Pre-Pottery Neolithic temple builders to later Bronze Age state formations, offering continuity rarely available in standard Turkey tours.
